Cruise Control Driving School

Cruise Control offers driving instruction to all ages and specializes in the state-certified driving course required for 15/16-year olds to receive their provisional/conditional driver's license. Our full course also qualifies drivers age 15-24 for insurance premium discounts up to 10 percent by providing a copy of the course completion certificate to your insurance company.

Our full course fulfills the state requirement of eight hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) driving instruction. Classroom instruction is normally done on a Saturday from 8:30 to 4:30; however, weekday classes are often scheduled on teacher workdays when students are not in school and during the summer as needed for those with Saturday commitments. Our office and classroom are conveniently located off of Dorchester Rd. in Summerville (see Map/Directions for specifics). The six hours BTW is usually accomplished in three 2-hour sessions or, for very inexperienced students, four 1 1/2 hour lessons.

Individual hourly instruction is also available for those adults just learning to drive or for those "full course" students who wish to receive additional lessons beyond their original six hours BTW.

For all of our driving lessons, we offer free pick-up and drop-off at your home or school within a limited radius of our location in the Charleston area. 

We use the Nissan Sentra GXE and Kia Optima for our driving instruction. They have automatic transmissions and are specially equipped with a dual-brake assembly and rearview mirror on the passenger side.
